Lake Louise in the Winter

 

Three weeks ago I went to Calgary for a work trip, and was extremely lucky to take an extra few days for myself to check out Banff National Park and Lake Louise in the winter time! Myself and my friend met up with two of our good friends in Banff for three days and two nights.

Our first day, we travelled to Lake Louise and walked on, and around the frozen lake.

 

Here I am, about 6 months after I had first seen Lake Louise in July 2012. Now all frozen!

While we were touring around Lake Louise, there was an ice carving compeitition going on, where many contestants from around the world were competiting. People were from Canada, the United States, Germany, Switzerland, and France to name a few.

 

 

We sat by the fire to take in the beautiful view of the mountains and the lake.

and then we finished off our day with some warm beverages in the Fairmont Lake Louise.

Even though my trip took place this time in the winter, Lake Louise is still one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have ever been in the world!
